Several members of Heartland Peony Society in Kansas City that claim peonies to be the backbone of the Midwest garden along with other experts, are putting in efforts to discover and introduce new types of peonies. Some types of peonies that thrive in Midwest garden are herbaceous peonies, tree peonies, and species peonies.
