A walking stick is a very useful piece of equipment that can aid a hiker while maneuvering over rough terrain and uneven trails. Personalizing a walking stick can be a lot of fun and can act as a happy reminder of a special hiking trip. Instruction for making a walking stick is included.

The shield slide
Article Abstract:
The oval shape of the shield slide is first drawn on paper and cut out, and this is used to trace the shape onto a piece of basswood that will be cut into the actual slide. Drawing the buffalo skull, drilling holes, painting and other steps are outlined.
