The multicultural myth: diversity depends on where you live

Article Abstract:

The image of the US as a melting pot of different races is misleading. Only the cities near ports of entry seem to be teeming with people from varied races. The rest of the nation, especially the suburban and rural parts, are largely populated by white, middle-aged to elderly people.

Article Abstract:

An animal lover dwells on the experience of having to slaughter some of her sheep for practical reasons. She reaches the conclusion that being a non-vegetarian, she has no right to bemoan the manner in which animals are slaughtered for food, even though it is a cruel process.
