US troops serving abroad suffer such inconveniences as low pay and unsatisfactory living conditions to compound the terror that they experience during actual combat. Despite these, they have proven to be unflinching in their bravery in the service of the nation's interests.

The SOG Hatchet Force Company's Operation Spindown in Vietnam, which started March 4, 1969, is described. A roadblock defended US Special Forces camp Ben Het against North Vietnamese forces. The successful operation was headed by Capt Bobby Evans.
