Article Abstract:
The negative reaction to the Nolan report on political ethics by some MPs shows how isolated some parliamentarians are from their UK constituents. Some members exhibited complete incomprehension of the concerns of ordinary citizens. The Nolan Report addresses aspects of public life that raise ethical and social concerns. These include MPs who work as consultants for companies that attempt to influence government policy.
