Pressure groups and redistribution
Article Abstract:
A simple pressure-group model yields more useful predictions in understanding the political economy of redistribution. This model makes use of heterogeneous agents that decide the group they will join and their extent of participation in a political activity. Social conditions that influence political sympathies and formation of pressure-groups are factors considered in this approach. Social affinity in this study produces predictions about the effect in redistribution by changes in growth rate and distribution of income.

Cost-Benefit Analysis and Project Evaluation
Article Abstract:
Small project efficiency is gauged through a cost-benefit criterion using local information on a country's technology. Project evaluation depends on government policy on tax and transfer instruments. A shadow pricing formula is derived from an open economy model with constant returns to scale.
