States ask where DUI suspects had last drink
Article Abstract:
Several law enforcement agencies in the U.S. are addressing cases of driving under the influence (DUI) by compiling information about where DUI suspects had their last drink and checking out these bars and restaurants to make sure that they do not serve alcohol to customers who are already drunk. Programs in Oregon, New Jersey, Idaho, and Texas are discussed.

Low-income children in the states
Article Abstract:
The Annie E. Casey Foundation released a study in 2007 that ranked Utah as the number one state in the U.S. with children coming from low-income households. The ranking was based on categories such as family activities, and children's health and social well-being. A list of the ranking of the 50 states is presented.

Legislators in 41 states enacted 170 immigration-related bills in 2007, encompassing education, human-trafficking, employment, public benefits, and employment policy areas. New laws passed in some of the states are presented.
