It is found that around the age of retirement, due to the fall in incomes, households appear to reduce their consumption expenditure level. It also explains, the difference in behaviour of single and family households during such a situation.

A study on household labor supply using the assumptions of collective approach is made. Two related extensions are presented. Also, how to measure the incidence of income tax on household labor supply is examined.
