The relationship between the supplier and the purchaser has never been a friendly one. The current practical approaches being adopted by all industries are used in examining the supplier-purchasing relationship and will not tackle relationships of the future. The four areas covered include the present state of the relationship, supplier-based concentration, single sourcing and transportation techniques.
