Article Abstract:
The US health care industry must strive to reassure the public that contrary to popular belief, it is not anti-patient nor anti-consumer. Health care providers can start by voluntariliy implementing an independent review of treatments denials. Such a move will help to quell the growing suspicion among the public that health plans only care about profits.

Article Abstract:
The public is increasingly becoming concerned over the for-profit direction in which health care is headed. The adherence to profit margins, to the detriment of total and efficient patient care, has people worried. There are others, however, who argue that the financial realities of providing quality and efficient health care cannot be ignored.
