Health plan satisfaction and risk of disenrollment among social/HMO and fee-for-service recipients
Article Abstract:
The degree of satisfaction among the elderly regarding their health plan does not guarantee their continued membership in their respective plans. A comparison of satisfaction levels between members of social health maintenance organizations and those cared for by fee-for-service plans found an equal satisfaction rating among members of both organizations. However, satisfaction was not a reliable predictor of disenrolling from the plan, but membership was directly correlated with functional impairment or disability of the patient.
