Financial analysis of direct contracting between hospitals and employers
Article Abstract:
Direct contracts between health service providers and employers have increasingly been used as an option to control employee benefit costs. Health managers need to carefully evaluate the financial effects of such contracts. Several guidelines on the financial analysis of direct contracts are presented to help health managers determine if a contract will be advantageous to the organization or not. The general principles involved in such analysis, which depend on aggregate revenue and cost data are also discussed.
