Heart network; a new cardiovascular network plans to offer high-quality, low-cost services nationwide
Article Abstract:
The National Cardiovascular Network (NCN), formed by 40 cardiovascular surgeons and cardiologists on Mar 31, 1993, will provide standardized care and less costly services by using high-volume surgical facilities. NCN negotiates directly with the purchasers of its cardiac services to provide payers the best value. NCN standardizes the care they provide and maintain cost-efficiency reports and practice profiles to demonstrate to potential purchasers of their services the efficiency and cost savings NCN provides.

When stress is relative
Article Abstract:
Stress produced by family interactions is a major source of anxiety for most people and can cause numerous illnesses. A study of 413 patients at Durham, NC's Duke University Medical Center found that high family stress decreases healthiness and quality of life.
