Article Abstract:
A microfilm system can save up to ninety-five percent of the space used by file cabinets. Records can be accessed much more rapidly. Microfilm on rolls is the most common type of system. Another popular method of handling microfilm is to insert a microfilm of related documents into a jacket composed of two sheets of mylar. A microfiche is a piece of film containing hundreds of photographed documents. Computer output microfilm (COM) allows information to be reordered directly onto microfilm from magnetic tape. Computer-assisted retrieval systems can be completely automated or can join manual retrieval with computerized indexing.

Article Abstract:
In Wesley Medical Center v. Clarh, a Kansas trial court granted the plantiffs' motion to discover all the documents Wesley Medical Center had pertaining to the hospital's investigation. Wesley Medical Center brought action in the Kansas Supreme Court to compel the trial court to protect the records. The Kansas Supreme Court ruled that it was the trial court's responsibility to decide whether the records deserved protection.
