The prevalence of formal risk adjustment in health plan purchasing
Article Abstract:
The formal risk adjustment of health plan payments by Medicaid, Medicare, private health plans and state governments are discussed. Formal risk adjustment is used for 100% of Medicaid and Medicare programs, 20% of state government programs and 1% of private health plans.
