Hospital volunteerism in the '90s
Article Abstract:
Hospitals, by structuring their volunteer relationships as partnerships, can meet volunteers' specific needs and maximize their own gains. Hospitals must look further afield in their volunteer recruitment efforts, and they should give their volunteers a thorough orientation. Hospitals should offer variety and flexibility in the opportunities they offer volunteers.

Easy-does-it design
Article Abstract:
The Hays Medical Center of Kansas decided to use a design-build architectural system by contracting with HBE Corp, in order to save money and avoid disrupting too many operations as it remodeled two merged hospitals. Design-build is simple and costs are much easier to project. The history of the project is examined.
