Working conditions, compensation and absteeism
Article Abstract:
A study on the absence behavior of worker in relation to the working environment is presented. A theoretical model is constructed so as to separate the effects of voluntary absences and absences related to ill health where the health aspects are related to the work environment. It is observed that workers do not get complete compensation when experiencing bad working conditions. That is, ill health and long-term absence are not related to the economic variables. However, long-term absence is relatively higher if the firm has experienced many accidents.

Multitasking and mixed systems for provider payment
Article Abstract:
Multitasking refers to the challenge of designing incentives to motivate appropriate effort across multiple tasks when the desired outcomes for some tasks are more difficult to measure than others. The usage of multitasking in health care industry and its influence in strengthening conventional arguments for mixed payment systems such as partial capitation has been studied. Mixed payment helps to balance incentives for quality effort across services better when pay-for-performance metrics are imperfect for rewarding service- specific quality.
