A nurse-led e-mail service for breast cancer information

Article Abstract:

A study discover why people access the web-based 'Ask the nurse' service, what type of information they require and their overall level of satisfaction. Results reveal that e-mail service has advantages, however, health care professionals need to be aware of potential problems before offering this type of communication to their patients.

Trastuzumab

Article Abstract:

Trastuzumab works by interfering with one of the ways in which breast cancer cells divide. NICE has recommended that trastuzumab be used in combination with paclitaxel for women with tumors with excessive HER2 at levels of 3+, who have not had chemotherapy for metastic breast cancer and for whom anthracycline treatment is inappropriate.

Telephone helpline to support people with breast cancer

Article Abstract:

The importance of a free telephone helpline in supporting and treating people with breast cancer is studied. The analysis shows that such helpline provides high level of satisfaction to the patients and hence should be made easily accessible to everyone for better results.
