Cardiovascular risks of antiretroviral therapies

Article Abstract:

The use of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) has led to sustained reductions in mortality from HIV infection, but it is also associated with metabolic complications that might increase patients' cardiovascular disease risk. It is revealed that considerable progress is made in the development of newer antiretroviral therapies that have a better metabolic profile relating to dyslipidemia, hyperglycemia, and lipodystrophy.

Angiogenesis in ischemic and neoplastic disorders

Current concepts in thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to review the characteristics and function of a circulating zinc metalloprotease, ADAMTS13, whose deficiency causes thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP). Results show that the identification of ADAMTS13 raises the possibility of providing molecular therapy for the treatment of TTP.
