Changes in the isoforms of the sodium pump in the placenta and myometrium of women in labor

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on sodium pump isoform abundance. The authors have investigated the hypothesis that the changes in this abundance could affect active labor, and they have suggested that sodium pump may be very important for human labor maintenance because the reduction in sodium pump number leads to hormone release and to muscle contraction.

Maternal and transplacental pharmacokinetics of azithromycin

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on azithromycin pharmacokinetics in the term gravid women with prolonged half-life and high-sustained antibiotic levels within adipose, placental tissue and myometrium. Results have demonstrated that azithromycin has serum half-life in these women, and can be used for perinatal infection treatment.
