Completion hysterectomy after radiation therapy for bulky cervical cancer stages IB, IIA, and IIB: complications and survival rates

Article Abstract:

A study focuses on assessing survival and morbidity when completion hysterectomy follows radiation for bulky cervical cancer. The results indicate that complications of combined therapy are comparable to radiation or radical hysterectomy alone and adjuvant hysterectomy might be a reasonable treatment option, in case in which an incomplete response to radiation and chemotherapy leaves potential residual carcinoma.
