Designing a new patient centred nursing strategy

Article Abstract:

A 'pen portrait' initiative is developed by City Hospitals Sunderland as part of their nursing strategy in order to ensure that patients are the centre of services, and an outline of the strategy along with an evaluation of its impact on patient care are presented. Where patient trust is essential

Article Abstract:

A report on theatre or perioperative nurses removes the misconception that these nurses perform only technical work and have no contact with patients. Various examples of theatre nurses show how they instill confidence and trust in patients before surgery, and how they personalize and humanize their care during post-operative recovery.
