Dietary fibre in pineapple fruit
Article Abstract:
A study of effects of freezing on the total fiber content of two varieties of pineapples reveals that total dietary fiber content increased in the Red Spanish pineapple cultivars and remained the same in the Smooth Cayenne cultivars with the freezing process. Dietary fiber content was more in the raw fruits of Smooth Cayenne cultivars than the Red Spanish cultivars. Increase in the dietary fiber content observed in the Red Spanish cultivars stopped after a year of cold storage.

Dietary fibre in Spanish kiwifruit
Article Abstract:
A study of dietary fiber in Spanish kiwifruit in the fresh fruits and after freezing shows that fresh kiwifruit contain 2.18 to 2.84 grams per 100 grams dietary fiber, depending on the cultivars. Dietary fiber increased in all samples of kiwifruit after freezing. Total dietary fiber did not change during the nine months of frozen storage. The frozen sliced kiwifruits were more similar to the fresh kiwifruits with least compositional, appearance and flavor changes.

Neutral detergent fibre and pectic substances in pineapple and its derivates: juices and nectars
Article Abstract:
A study of neutral detergent fibre and pectic substances in pineapple and its derivates shows that the fresh pineapples contain 1.289 grams per 100 grams neutral detergent fiber and 0.383 grams per 100 grams pectic substances. The discrepancy in the results from the published results is attributed to the different ripening stages of the fruits. The nectars of the fruits show 0.025 to 0.102 grams per 100 milliliters pectic substances.
