Manufacturers of neoprene knee supports harp about the benefits that can be gained from the use of the device. Protection from knee injuries is one often-cited benefit. However, studies indicate that neoprene knee supports do not protect wearers from knee injuries.

Implementing a weight training program 12-24 weeks after a knee tendon transplant facilitates the recovery of injured knees. However, physical stress during the first 13-15 months after a knee tendon transplant will damage the ligaments of the knees.
