Drip by drip...
Article Abstract:
UK water companies are installing prepayment water devices in the houses of people who have fallen behind with their water bills, which is causing suffering. Householders have to have a smart card charged at a post office on a weekly basis. Failure to do so means that they will have no water for the week, yet they will still be indebted to the water utility for the weekly amount. Four local councils have asked the High Court to carry out a judicial review of the situation, and another three councils are considering doing the same.

No substitute
Article Abstract:
Manufacturers of baby-milk are systematically going against a code which controls the marketing of formula milks, according to research published by the Interagency Group on Breastfeeding Monitoring. Company representatives are making free supplies available to mothers and health workers in many countries, including South Africa, Poland and Bangladesh, and charts are being issued which show women how to stop breast-feeding. This goes against the 1981 World Health Assembly International Code of Marketing of Breast Milk Substitutes.
