Epigenetics Is Seen as Possible Key to Cloning

Article Abstract:

Genetic imprinting may be one reason so many cloned animals grow larger than normal. Imprinting means the animal only has one functional copy of a gene instead of two. Animals that only have one copy of the gene for insulin-like growth factor receptor would have excess insulin-like growth factor. This would make them grow larger than normal.
