Factors associated with incontinence frequency in a surgical cohort of stress incontinent women

Article Abstract:

A study to identify factors associated with urinary incontinence severity at baseline in women undergoing surgery for stress incontinence is presented. Incontinence severity in a surgical population is found to be independently associated with 2 modifiable factors, obesity and tobacco use, as well as pelvic support.

Repeat cesarean section and primary elective cesarean section: Recently trained obstetrician-gynecologist practice patterns and opinions

Article Abstract:

The study determined opinions of obstetrician-gynecologists regarding vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) section and elective cesarean section. It concluded that two thirds of recent graduates are willing to perform elective cesarean sections to prevent pelvic floor injury.

Sexual activity predicts continued pessary use

Article Abstract:

The clinical variables for the prediction of continued pessary use are determined. Results reveal that sexually active women and women with pelvic organ prolapse reported long-term pessary use.
