Fc(alpha)RI-positive liver Kupffer cells: reappraisal of the function of immunoglobulin A in immunity
Article Abstract:
Research on immunoglobulin A's involvement in mucosal immunity is presented. Topics discussed include the function of its receptor CD89, its interaction with serum IgA on Kupffer cells to eliminate invasive bacteria, and its role in enhancing defensive processes in mucosal immunity.

Recombinant lipid-tagged antibody fragments as functional cell-surface receptors
Article Abstract:
A method for inserting lipid-tagged single-chain Fv antibody fragments into cell membranes is described. These compounds can act as cell-surface receptors. This could be a way of introducing material into cells without transferring genes.

Inhibitory Fc receptors modulate in vivo cytoxicity against tumor targets
Article Abstract:
Fc receptors on tumor cells are involved in the anti-tumor activity of monoclonal antibodies. Many mouse and human monoclonal antibodies engage both activation and inhibitory antibody receptors on cells.
