Families caring for children with fetal alcohol syndrome: the nurse's role in early identification and intervention
Article Abstract:
Nurses working with young children and families could be in an ideal position to identify children with fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS). FAS is a life-long condition that may lead to primary and secondary conditions. Nurses may be able to play a key role in identification and intervention if behavioral and social manifestations are witnessed.
