Is immortality a possibility? A thought experiment concerning the inevitability of senescence due to endogenous parasitism
Article Abstract:
A human organism existing in an ideal environment, where one is immune from senescence, will eventually age and die due to endogenous parasitism. A thought experiment has shown that the accumulation of endogenous parasites through the process of natural selection increases the state of entropy within the organism. This increase in entropy raises the level of energy within the system and increases its rate of replication, enabling parasites to evolve and develop intra-host resistance. In time, the parasites accumulate and cause the organism's demise.

Will refinancing an installment sale obligation trigger recognition of gain?
Article Abstract:
Recognition of capital gain may be necessary when an installment sale obligation is modified, based on an interpretation of the 1991 Cottage Savings case and regulations governing IRC sections 1001 and 453B. The regulations appear to imply that even changes such as an interest rate modification could be a taxable deemed disposition.
