Microenvironmental genomic alterations and clinicopathological behavior in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

Article Abstract:

The compartment-specific loci of loss of heterozygosity or allelic imbalance (LOH/Al) is determined and the genomic alterations restricted to the stoma cell population contributing to aggressiveness of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) disease is identified. Stroma-specific genetic alterations are associated with smoking-related head and neck SCC genesis, suggesting novel prognostic or diagnostic biomarkers for therapeutic and preventive intervention.

Microvascular Free-Flap Reconstruction in the Head and Neck

Article Abstract:

The development of microvascular free-tissue transfer has allowed surgeons to reconstruct the face, oral cavity, and neck of patients with head and neck cancer. Most of these cancers are treated surgically. Microvascular free-tissue transfer involves using the patient's own soft tissues and/or bone, which are taken from other parts of the body.

Incidence and prognosis of cutaneous melanoma involving the head and neck

Article Abstract:

The epidemiological features of cutaneous head and neck melanoma (CHNM) are described and the factors associated with mortality from this disease are identified. The population-based cohort study has shown an increase in the incidence of CHNM.
