National Academies: Barriers and widespread bias harm women in Science, Engineering
Article Abstract:
A new National Academies report states that the barriers to hiring and promotion that women face in the fields of science and engineering are depriving the US of an important source of talent. An 18-member Committee on Maximizing the Potential of Women in Academic Science and Engineering was appointed consisting of people from various walks of life, which has made a number of recommendations for improving the working environment for women.
