No dismissal for hate-mail author

This article discusses the investigation by the Hospital for Sick Children and the University of Toronto into the misconduct of medical researcher Gideon Koren. Although he was found guilty of sending hate mail to his colleague Nancy Olivieri, destroying institutional equipment and lying to his superiors, he was not dismissed, but was fined CAN$35,000.

Call to buy nevirapine for developing countries
Article Abstract:
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation placed an ad in the Sept. 8, 1999 issue of the New York Times asking for donations to supply AIDS drugs to developing countries. One drug particularly needed is nevirapine, which reduces perinatal transmission by 47% and is cheaper than AZT.
