Issues discussed concern the organic food industry in the US and proposals for regulation of natural food growing and labeling. Topics addressed include the US Department of Agriculture's efforts to create national standards for the marketing of organic foods, and the Organic Trade Association stance on the use of irradiation, genetically engineered plants, and fertilizers.

Researchers at the Laboratory of Toxicology at NIEHS advocate conducting clinical tests on children. The effects of estrogen on children, diethylstilbestrol as a possible cause of vaginal cancer in teenagers, and pesticides composed of estrogenic material are analyzed.
