Placental mesenchymal stem cells as potential autologous graft for pre- and perinatal neuroregeneration
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to determine if Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are present in fetal membranes and placental tissue and to assess their potential to differentiate into neurogenic and mesodermal lineages. The result showed that the placental tissue obtained during prenatal chorionic villous sampling or at delivery might be an ideal source for autologous stem cell graft for peripartum neuroregeneration and other clinical issues.

Intrauterine therapy of goitrous hypothyroidism in a boy with a new compound heterozygous mutation (Y453D and C800R) in the thyroid peroxidase gene: A long-term follow-up
Article Abstract:
The results of intrauterine L-thyroxine therapy, and the long-term follow-up in a fetus that presented at 32 week's gestation with goitrous hypothyroidism, hyperextension of the neck, and polyhydramnios is presented. Molecular analysis reveals a new compound heterozygous mutation (Y453D/C800R) in the thyroid peroxidase gene.

Placental villitis of unknown origin: Epidemiologic associations
Article Abstract:
The study investigates the incidence and association of placental villitis of unknown origin or etiology (VUE). Maternal factors influence the VUE association, possibly by modifying a systematic effect on fetal growth of villous inflammation at commonly occurring defects in the maternal-fetal immune barrier.
