Prevalence of and risk factors for pubic lipoma development in HIV-infected persons

Article Abstract:

A novel manifestation of HIV-associated lipoaccumulation is described and the prevalence of and risk factors for development of pubic lipomas (PLs) is evaluated. The results show that PL is the latest manifestation of HIV-associated lipoaccumulation that is more likely to occur among those with coexisting dorsocervical fat pads, indicating the possibility of a common pathogenesis between the 2 entities.

Incidence of and risk factors for clinically significant methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus infection in cohort of HIV-infected adults

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to develop a cohort-based estimate of trends in the incidence of clinically significant methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (CS-MRSA) events in HIV-infected adults. The likely cases are characterized according to likely source of acquisition, by antimicrobial susceptibility patterns and to identify risk factors for community-acquired MRSA (CA-MRSA) events.
