Rx for obesity: Eat less, exercise more, and--Maybe--Get more sleep
Article Abstract:
Experts at a March 2006 workshop in Washington DC, explored the premise that a decline in the daily hours of sleep may play more of a role in promoting overeating and weight gain among the US population than previously thought. Presenters reported that epidemiological, genetic and endocrine evidence supports a sleep-obesity connection, discussed how obesity impairs sleep, and reviewed current treatments for obesity.
