Some in corporate world worried about health bill

Article Abstract:

Most employers support the Republican-backed legislation to reduce Medicare and Medicaid federal spending that will curb Medicare payroll tax increases through increased usage of managed care. Smaller corporations are expressing their fears that the projected $433 billion in cuts in Medicare and Medicaid expenditures could further increase private medical insurance rates. GOP lawmakers affirm that the new health legislation will decrease medical care cost and permit physicians to create their own networks that will offer cheaper medical care.

Congressional reform could make it easier for healthcare providers to launch their own prepaid Medicare plans.
