Testament of friendship
Article Abstract:
A Dutch nurse describes how she administered a lethal injection to a dying colleague and became the subject of a legal and bureacratic investigation. She received a two month suspended prison sentence, but she plans to appeal on the grounds that she acted as the arm of the colleague's doctor under special circumstances. The doctor prepared the injections and gave instructions to the nurse on how to administer them, although the Royal Dutch Medical Association states that doctors cannot delegate euthanisia.

Dutch courage
Article Abstract:
Heroin users in The Netherlands are being encouraged to remain in daily contact with health workers through a controversial policy of heroin treatment. Health professionals in The Netherlands claim the policy of monitored drug allocation ensures constant health and social monitoring for drug users who would have fallen through the social welfare system.
