Lasker Award recipients reflect on the significance of the Lasker awards for the credibility, advancement, adoption, and recognition of scientific discovery. Robert G. Edwards, who received the Albert Lasker Clinical Medical Research Award in 2001, recognizes the Lasker Foundation as itself a pillar of talented selection, simple and direct in making its awards and he believes that the award has provided a stimulus for him to continue further will full determination.

Lasker Award recipients reflect on the significance of the Lasker awards for the credibility, advancement, adoption, and recognition of scientific discovery. Barry J. Marshall received the Lasker Award for clinical medicine that helped in pushing Helicobacter pylori across the threshold of global acceptance as the stomach bacterium that causes ulcers and possibly stomach cancer.
