Xanax XR for panic disorder
Article Abstract:
Clinical testing reveals that extended-release benzodiazepine alprazolam (Xanax XR) is more effective than the immediate-release type for treatment of panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia. This is not recommended for long-term use, instead antidepressants and cognitive behavioral therapy are used. Dependence on the use of alprazolam is discouraged. It is FDA approved.
