Water world 2000

Article Abstract:

An overview is presented on the growing scarcity of safe water supplies worldwide. Threats include contamination from various sources, such as urban runoff, pesticides and sewage; lack of access to water in arid and poverty-stricken communities; and the negative impact of global warming on aquatic communities, which alter water chemistry and can produce illness.

Infantile methemoglobinemia: reexamining the role of drinking water nitrates
