Builders bond a friendship
Article Abstract:
Twelve British and Irish university students helped build a primary school in the Baganda kingdom, Uganda, as guests of the government under its primary education programme. Ugandan schoolchildren and Ugandan university students also participated to help construct the classrooms, with the main structural work having been previously undertaken by professional builders. The 'workcamp' was characterized by a spirit of hard work and good humour, with the project demonstrating to the locals that jobs can be completed without government involvement.
