Meat Loaf, Rock singer and actor
Article Abstract:
Meat Loaf's 1977 album "Bat Out of Hell", one of the best-selling records of all time and a landmark in the history of rock music, turned Meat Loaf from a moderately successful theater and film actor into a sui generis rock star, famous for his life-threateningly physical live performances, operatic voice and outsize girth. Meat Loaf, born Marvin Lee Aday, fell into alcohol and drug abuse after the phenomenal success of that album, but made an unexpected comeback in 1993 with the release of "Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell".
