Lou Rawls was a very successful and popular singer who had one the most distinctive baritone voices in American popular music. His single album 'Dead End Street' was in the Top 40 charts in 1966 that brought him his first Grammy Award in 1967, while he also won second Grammy Award with the single 'A Natural Man' in the 1972.

The life and work of Nic Harcourt, a radio disc jockey at the KCRW in Santa Monica, California are discussed. Hartcourt took over Morning Becomes Eclectic, a morning drive-time music show from its original host Tom Schnabel, which airs weekdays from 9 am to noon and the music programming for the station in April 1998.
