Andradite
Article Abstract:
Demantoids are green, chromium-colored andradite garnets which are more fiery and possesses a higher refractive index compared to the green grossular. Most of the demantoid finds come from Russia's Ural mountains and compose mostly of gold placer washings. Despite its other valuable attributess demantoids show insufficient hardness and cannot be used in rings.

Pectolite
Article Abstract:
Pectolite is a compact, fibrous and cuttable gemstone usually found as white to greenish to reddish striped pebbles. They are found in the Dominican Republic, in New Jersey and in Quebec. Pectolite from the Dominican Republic is blue in color and is found in basaltic lava.

Andradite
Article Abstract:
Andradite is one of the uncommon types of garnet that may be found. Demantoid has the rarest occurence of this type of gem, found only in the Ekaterinburg emerald mines in Russia. Colors of andradite range from light yellow to inky black, but never red.
