British royal wedding creates universal philatelic interest
Article Abstract:
Prince Charles of Great Britain has been featured on many stamps, first on a New Zealand stamp issued in 1950. When he wed in 1981, many countries issued stamps to commemorate the wedding. Stamps that depict other members of the British royal family are described.

Fires can turn philatelic classics into memories
Article Abstract:
Fires can destroy stamp collections, yet sometimes those stamps can retain their value or become more valuable. A descendent of a Confederate Senator describes the value placed on a burned letter mailed during Feb 1864 even though it had been burned.
