Too-slow teles trouble for available light? Try moving in, rather than zooming in

Point and shoot camera photographers do not have to be limited by available light when the lens requires an additional source, such as electronic flash. The zoom lens should be set to the widest setting, and the camera should be brought closer to the subject.

How red-eye prone is your camera?

The red-eye phenomenon can be measured by the distance from the edge of the built-in flash to the edge of the lens in an autofocus camera. The red-eye potential decreases if the distance is greater than the focal length of the lens.
