Denmark will commemorate liberation anniversary

Denmark has chosen to depict four scenes on its postage stamps that will recall its liberation from the German Occupation of World War II. The four designs show Gen Montgomery, white coaches bringing food relief, airlift of supplies to the resistance, and escapees fleeing the Germans by boat.

New Swiss stamps commemorate endangered species
Article Abstract:
Switzerland introduced four stamps on Jan 16, 1995, that commemorate endangered indigenous species. The stamps feature the map butterfly, green tree frog, European beaver, and little owl. The stamps are meant to bring awareness of the 200 European species that are threatened.

Isle of Man stamps commemorate V-E Day

Eight issues have been planned to celebrate the ending of the European War fifty years ago in 1945. The issue day is May 8, 1995. A brief history of the Isle of Man's role in the war and a description of the stamps is presented.
