Beware of reprinted paper ephemera

Article Abstract:

Collectors of old newspaper and parchments must beware of the several fakes that are in the marketplace. Examples such as The Ulster County Gazette of 1799 from NY supposedly tells of George Washington's death. Other examples of known fake ephemera are described.

Philatelists are interested in reading old letters that were mailed years ago. These letters show how life has changed by discussing topics such as the activities people enjoyed before radio and television were invented.
